“We want to do good work with good people that feels right and makes us smile. We want a business that affords us a balanced and decent quality of life.”
Rob Skeet and Alistair Coutie both studied Architecture and Environmental Design at Sheffield Hallam University - the first architecture course in the UK to prioritise sustainability in architecture. Prior to this, both had also pursued successful careers outside architecture before making the move almost 20 years ago.
Alistair had previously worked as a cabinet maker, producing handmade furniture and bespoke fitted joinery from a successful workshop in Sheffield. Rob pursued a successful career as a professional musician, playing and teaching the saxophone in Portugal and the UK.
Nowadays Alistair builds his own bikes and cycles whenever and wherever he can, whilst Rob continues to work as a saxophonist and conducts a 20-piece swing band.
Susannah Hudson joined the team in 2019 as a First Class architecture graduate from Hallam University. Her keen eye and formidable work ethic have been a welcome addition to the studio.
